Mount Fuji Architects Studio - Rainy/Sunny House, Tokyo 2008. An amazing form-work for the concrete exterior (click for big) using staggered, uncoated larch plywood, which transfers the wood grain pattern and creates a shingled effect. The end result is not only visually appealing, but also anticipates the weathering produced by repeated rains in the humid climate to enhance the wood-grain pattern with alkali runoff over time. Via.
