WBE House in Japan by AUAU

subtilitas:

FAR - Wall house, Santiago 2007 (now for sale).

subtilitas:

Mathias Klotz - The second project completed in his career; Casa Muller on Isla Grande de Chiloe in 1994. Compositionally, there’s a nice contrast between one side feeling massive and firmly rooted to the ground, while the other opens up and floats above the landscape. I love some of the small details; for example how the siding changes orientation from horizontal to vertical as you turn to the porch. The house has a clear nautical sensibility through its materiality and proportions, yet is careful to abstract the elements just enough where to where it doesn’t conform to the more traditional archetype of a beach home.

Damn that’sa wide angle lens :O

The book is the brainchild of Caz Hildebrand, a partner in Here Design, a London firm that creates chic brand identities, packaging, environments and products, including TV chef Nigella Lawson’s lavishly photographed cookbooks. The young superstar chef she recruited to write and test the recipes is Jacob Kenedy, co-owner of the Italian regional restaurant Bocca di Lupo, recently voted “London’s Best Restaurant” by both Time Out and the Evening Standard.

Melbourne-based architectural practice Lyons digitally rendered this stunning façade, which belongs to the John Curtin School of Medical Research at Australian National University.

The glazed panels express the research work of the school at various scales, including the scale of humankind, the molecule, and the codified representations of the DNA strand.

The building is reflective of new aspirations in the workplace and provides an interactive space which allows researchers, students, and visitors to collaborate in team-based research.
